Vauxhall offers portable
satellite navigation
|
|
Owners of Vauxhall cars and vans can now enjoy
all the benefits of satellite navigation at less than a third of the
price of factory-fitted systems on new cars, thanks to a link up
between Vauxhall and TomTom.
Regardless of model or age of your vehicle, the latest GO 300
version of the TomTom portable navigation aid is now available as an
accessory from Vauxhall retailers throughout the United Kingdom for
just £369.99.
Mounted on an adjustable bracket that sticks to the windscreen via a
suction pad, it is easy to install. As no permanent fitting is
necessary, it can be easily transferred from car to car by drivers
who have use of more than one vehicle.
Touch screen operation makes it easy to plan your journey, using the
quickest or shortest route avoiding such things as toll roads and
congestion charging zones. Road coverage extends to all corners of
the UK.
Once the driver has entered their destination using either the
postcode or typing in the full address, TomTom will guide them there
using voice commands and either bird’s-eye view maps or 3-D view
maps depending on the owner’s preference.

With a four hour battery life the unit should see drivers through
most journeys but a cigar lighter power light lead enables you to
keep the battery topped up while on the move.
With TomTom PLUS services, the owner can add more features such as
real time information on traffic, congestion charging areas and
weather forecasts, not to mention additional voices. If you want to
venture abroad, maps for foreign countries can be purchased online
at www.tomtom.com
