Take a day trip to
the Geneva Motor Show and try exciting new Vauxhalls for size!

First chance to see the New Zafira, plus two more world debuts
Low cost flights and cheap entry tickets make it practical to
get to Swiss show
With bargain-priced flights and the airport next door to the
exhibition hall, it makes real sense for British car fans to hop on
a low-cost airline and pop into the Geneva Motor Show for a day trip
between 3-13 March. And with new versions of British favourites such
as the Zafira making their debut, it’s the perfect opportunity to
try the new version of Britain’s most popular MPV out for size,
pick up some brochures and see all the glamour of the Swiss show.
Car fans will find that getting to the exhibition in Geneva can
actually be less traumatic – and costly – than some family days
out in Britain. A quick trawl on the internet can find flights from
the low cost carriers over the show period at around £120 return,
and the airport is connected by a walkway to the exhibition. For
those with a little more time on their hands, an overnight stay can
halve the flight costs, leaving you enough cash for a hotel and
maybe even some chocolate! Entrance tickets to the halls cost 12
Swiss Francs, which is only around £5.60.
Once inside there will be plenty of tasty machinery to keep
enthusiasts entertained, including the most talked-about hot-hatch
of the year: the Astra VXR – albeit wearing the badges of sister
company Opel.

Astra Sports Hatch

Fans of the VXR brand will also find a special
surprise on the stand – perfect for anyone who wants to prove that
they’re the daddy….
Expect a crowd waiting to try the Astra Sport
Hatch models with the Panorama windscreen too. With a huge expanse
of glass stretching uninterrupted back to the
B pillar, the stylish innovation offers a new sense of space and
visibility. For those who want a vision of the future, there’s the
first chance for Europeans to see the Astra Diesel Hybrid concept,
with the world’s first two-mode diesel-electric power. And once you’ve left the show, remember to leave enough time for a
walk around the airport shops. As it’s not part of the EU,
Switzerland can still sell duty free!
