Clutchless system saves around 8% on fuel
Cuts wear and tear on several components
Self-learning function
The Vauxhall Movano van range fitted with the economical 2.5
litre CDTi common rail diesel engine is now available to order with
the new 6-speed clutchless Tecshift transmission.
Tecshift offers both "automatic" and "manual"
modes of operation.
In "automatic" mode, the vehicle moves up and down gears
according to the vehicle's engine speed and load. When switched to
"manual" mode, the transmission behaves like a sequential
gearbox, with the driver moving the gear lever forward for up-shifts
and rearward for dropping down a gear.
When the van is operating at capacity, the driver can activate a
"fully laden" automatic mode that varies the shift pattern
to meet the higher burden on the engine, holding on to gears longer
before changing up.

Cleverly, the system has a self-learning function and can adapt its
shift pattern to suit the driver's individual style.
Tecshift offers several advantages over a standard manual
transmission:
- Approximate 8% reduction in fuel consumption
- Encourages a more moderate method of driving
- Less wear and tear on clutch, brake pads and tyres.
Tecshift is available on all Movano 2.5CDTI variants at a price
premium over the equivalent manual transmission of £1,000.
And there is more good news for potential Movano buyers.
The price of the optional Siemens VDO MS4150 Satellite
Navigation system fitted to Movano has been reduced by £500 to £750.
Even more reason to add Vauxhall’s brilliant satnav to the
shopping basket – and never get lost or delayed again.
