Vauxhall family car scoops "Best Buy" award

Vauxhall Motors is toasting its success after its biggest selling family car – the Zafira – was voted ‘Best Buy’ by readers of Prima Baby magazine.

As a compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV), the Zafira caters perfectly for the needs of the modern family. Its Flex7 PlusTM concept is unique to the family car sector and allows passengers to arrange the rear seats and load area to suit their own needs. With its easy-to-use mechanisms, the Zafira can be transformed from a spacious seven-seater into a two-seater with van-rivalling load space in a matter of seconds, without having the struggle of removing heavy seats from the car.

This innovative facility makes the Zafira even more attractive to growing families who need more space as each new addition comes along. Other handy features within the Zafira include latched storage lockers, passenger drink holders and the parent-friendly ISOFIX child seat system, which enables child seats to be fitted into place with a simple push.

The Zafira starts at £12,995 on the road, but for those who don't need space for seven, the Zafira's sister car – the five-seater Meriva – starts at just £9,995 on the road.

Kevin Wale, managing director and chairman of Vauxhall Motors, said: "At Vauxhall, we work hard to provide cars that meet the varied needs of new or growing families, ensuring they not only have great design but contain everything the modern family needs and we are always looking for new and innovative ways to continue to provide the kinds of cars our customers want."

The awards, which will be announced in the November issue of Prima Baby, were launched by the magazine to celebrate those outstanding products and services that help make life easier for Britain’s new parents and mums-to-be. Readers were invited to nominate a ‘Best Buy’ and a ‘Best Value’ in 50 categories.
